Day 10 of the rest of the year.
Today was a short day. School closed at 11:00 AM. It doesn't feel like I went to school today.
It wasn't that fun at all. Except for when I was in the bus, and I was reading a book called, 'Pulling Princes' by Tyne O'Connell, (I AM CRAZY ABOUT THIS BOOK. AND I WANT THE REST OF THE SERIES TOO) while listening to music on my iPod.
Then Shwetha, Anncy, Lisha, Irene and I, played a game of acting out lyrics of songs and guessing them.
And Oh, yes. My English teacher told me, that I have a loud and clear voice, and she also said that I like to be heard when I'm reading. I exploded. (mentally.) Since I was overjoyed with what she said.
Oh God, I wish I lived in the United States, so I could get amazing books. Once I get hooked on a book, and there is a continuing book to it, I get CRAZY about it.
Now, my book obsession(s) is/are:
Possessed, and it's sequel, Consumed - By Kate Cann
The Calypso Chronicles - Tyne O'Connell
The Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling
The Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling
And...That's it!
I started writing this post at 4:00 PM, and now..
*13 hours later*
Yep. I'm writing this at 5:50 AM on FRIDAY.
I'll tell you what I did yesterday for this procrastination thingy to arise.
Well, at 6-something we went to the mall, ate supper, and shopped.
We came back at 9:00 PM. And since my parents were there at home, I couldn't write my blog. The ONLY people of my friends and family who know about this blog, are Hanan, Reem, Poornima and Shwetha. And the idea to continue writing my blog on the iPad didn't even hit me till 11:00 PM. And that's when my dad started screaming at me that I shouldn't play the iPad at night and a load of other crappiness.
I'm hopeless.
Which brings to another topic. (Well, it's a question.)
WHY do you (Sam) procrastinate so much?
I think it's because I'm TOO interested in doing other things rather than the things I should be doing. It's a thing of the brain. It's also a thing of your willpower and confidence.
A part of my brain, (The limbex system) reminds to do something else which will probably give me immediate satisfaction. For example, suppose I am completing my homework, something (I forgot what) causes the limbex system to send messages to my brain to do something else, like, completing the riddle school series over and over again. Now it's up to me, to choose. I can choose:
- Completing my homework. (Which will give me long-term benefits, when I go to school next day with a proud face, that I completed my work.)
- Playing riddle school. (Which would give me immediate happiness, since riddle school is fun to play.)
(And thank you to charlieissocoollike for teaching me, and many other uneducated youtubers about procrastination on your video.)
I'll keep you guys posted about today too. Kinda later in the evening, since we are having a huge lunch party in our house today.
Whatever.
-Sam Frank.
